Last Wednesday Amber and I went on a visit to Rita’s farm in Kemp’s Creek. It was a glorious sunny spring morning and there was a lot to see. All sorts of interesting new things we haven’t seen before, such as the red pak choy. She doesn’t have much of these fancier things at the moment but I’ll certainly be encouraging her to sow more seeds so we can all enjoy them in the boxes! The best thing about the trip was that Amber and I got to see first hand how Rita is farming. She really respects and cares for her land and is clearly passionate about farming without any chemical nastys. Her biggest challenge is weeds, for which she employs a small army of workers, hand weeding on constant rotation. The hard work is all worth it for the great tasting food she grows – we hope you enjoy it!
