We’d love to hear your feedback, too!
Just want to let you know I’m loving the boxes, the service and all the great information you guys provide. Couldn’t be happier as one of your newer customers! And so easy to use the system/make changes etc and keep things interesting for our bellies! Thanks to the team! Anna – Redfern 16/05/13
I picked up my second box tonight. I am so delighted with the whole program that I have been telling everyone. It’s easy to have good intentions, but this makes it easy for me to put my principals into practice. I have always tried to limit my food miles but this way I know it’s local and that I am supporting chemical free farming and the community.
I have now extended my orders till the end of term and added a sour dough loaf to next weeks order. The online ordering is easy and collecting from my city cousin saves further food miles. Sara- Newtown 16/05/13
My Food connect box brings me so much joy every week. It really is a wonderful service and I appreciate it so much. Sofie – Newtown 8/05/13
The Nashi pears a couple of weeks ago were incredible – I’ve never tasted a pear quite like that. I thought it was crossed with an apple at first but looked it up and I don’t think so. Never found such a combo of juicy and crispy – many thanks and hope there are lots more coming! Bronwen-Coogee 1/05/13
I just wanted to thank you for my first food connect order. I picked up my order, around the corner from where I live and it was all too easy.
Great service and lovely produce!!! Jacquie- Coogee 13/02/13
I just wanted to say thank you. I ordered a medium mixed box last week for the family and the contents were great! We managed to use every single vegetable and fruit by Tuesday!!! Anne- Dee Why 17/10/12
Just wanted to let you know how completely satisfied I am with my first box of Food Connect fruit and vege. The freshness, quality and quantity is impressive. Thank you ! And please thank the farmers ! Turiya – Annandale 21/09/12
Yes, I probably pay more for the produce than I would in a supermarket. But, I’m paying the producers fair prices for their wares, I’m doing a lot of good stuff , and I’m feeling GOOD about it all.

I just wanted to express my gratitude for the recipes that you include with the vege box. It really does make all the difference for me in getting the most from the veges that i receive.
As i unpacked my box this morning it dawned on me how important cooking knowledge is in relation to our food choices, which in turn influences where and how we buy food and ultimately farming practices and the impact on our environment.
I am inspired to learn a lot more about cooking foods that originate from sustainable practices, and to make the most of the beautiful variety of foods that our abundant earth has given us.
Keep up the great work. Leah- Oatley 5/08/11
I received my first box last night and am writing to say I am thrilled with it.
The produce is so fresh and there’s not a plastic wrap or foam tray in sight! Brilliant!
I love the odd imperfection and the lack of stickers on everything. It makes me feel like the produce is real and produced with attention rather than just mass produced for the big markets. By the way I have only had a chance to sample the oranges so far this morning and wow what a flavour sensation it was! Thanks again and I look forward to receiving boxes in the future. Say hello to all the farmers, we love their products and talk about Food Connect everywhere, whenever we have an opportunity to mention that fantastic way of shopping fresh, organic, local, seasonal and delicious fruits and veggies. Magda- Coogee 13/07/11
I recently joined Food Connect and I just wanted to write to you saying how much I’m loving it!
I am lucky to have grown up with a mum who is a great cook and always uses whole and fresh foods, and more recently I am realising just how lucky I am to have had this, and to have an understanding of food and cooking; not everyone has the benefit of growing up with this. To me this is not not greeny or elite or, my most hated term “so healthy” – this is normal! I don’t understand how people can think that processed and prepackaged food is an every day diet.
I have always felt strongly about the environmental and social impacts and habits of food and eating that we have gotten ourselves into, so I have finally got my act together and searched around for vege co-op and signed up with you guys. I was sick of the habit of buying overpriced yet low quality fruit and veg from the supermarket, knowing how bad it is for farmers, and knowing how choca is it of pesticides etc, not to mention that impact on the environment.
I have now received my 3rd small box and I am loving how the food is twice as flavourful, how it is making my cooking more diverse, the excitement of seeing what is in next week and thinking what I can make with it, and also the fact that I am not going to the supermarket and buying and supporting that crap (and its also saving me money!).
I am cooking for 3 people, and even with the small box, am finding I have to plan meals through the week so I get through everything, which is great! Yesterday when I was unpacking our box into the fridge and I pulled out the broccoli from last week which I hadn’t used yet, with the intention of using it for dinner. To my dismay, yet delight, it had gone off; usually I find broccoli lasts several weeks if you keep it wrapped in the fridge, but I pulled it out and it had started to rot. So I was disappointed that I couldn’t use it and that it had been wasted, but it also made me realise even more what must be used on supermarket veges to keep them “fresh” for longer….what chemicals have I been putting in my body?! Give me rotting veges anyday!
So thank you Food Connect for your delicious deliveries each week and restored faith and realisation! After 3 weeks I am hooked and wishing I had no day job and had a huge household that I could cook breakfast lunch and dinner for every day! Emily – Marrickville 7/07/11
The quality of the box this week was stunning – thank you!!! Geoff 31/03/11
We are very happy to have those fresh and delicious veggies and fruits every week. Perfect quality, variety and quantity. Magda 4/03/11
Just wanted to say what a great box! Thanks. Harriet 23/02/11
I just wanted to pass on that our small fruit and veggie box last week was excellent. It was the best box we’ve gotten so far and we were able to make gorgeous meals. It seemed like the produce lasted longer too – maybe it was more fresh? And the variety was excellent. I an not sure if you had a particularly good selector that week but it was great. Keep up the good work – Adrienne 14/02/11
I’ve been a subscriber to Food Connect since it first started in Sydney. I was immediately, wholeheartedly on the bandwagon – like a little Food Connect ‘ecovangelist’, telling everyone I know. Seriously – if there was a t-shirt that says “I <3 Food Connect”, I would be wearing it.
I love that my food is healthy and fresh and not being transported thousands of kilometres and destroying our earth. I love that I am more connected to my food source and that the farmers are getting what they deserve for their hard work. I love that I feel better when I’m eating organically. It just feels right and more real – more like how life’s supposed to be. Authentic.
There is one other unexpected and wonderful benefit that I have discovered since subscribing to Food Connect, and that is the way my creativity has been engaged. Because I never know what I’ll be getting in that cardboard box, it’s like a mystery box challenge every week!
One week we received a fennel bulb – an ingredient I’d never cooked with before. My flatmate and I googled it and found a recipe for chicken and fennel risotto. It was such a good meal that we felt we should share it , so we invited some friends over for an impromptu dinner party. We set the table beautifully, listened to some tunes, played board games, drank wine and ate an amazing meal. It was a great night that never would have happened without Food Connect. - Tabitha 4/02/11
